74th Republic Day 2023: A total of 23 tableaux has participated in the 74th Republic Day Parade 2023. Out of these tableaux, the Uttarakhand’s tableau based on the theme ‘Manaskhand’ won the 1st prize. It showcase the state’s wildlife and religious sites during the ceremonial parade at Kartavya Path (earlier name Rajpath) on 26 January. In the front face of the tableau, reindeer, deer and various birds were shown roaming in the famous Jim Corbett National Park of Uttarakhand. The central part of the tableau depicted the state animal of Uttarakhand, musk deer, national bird peacock and ghoral while the Jogeshwar Dham and famous Deodar trees were shown in the rear part of the tableau.

74th Republic Day 2023: Other Winners
- ‘Nari Shakti’ was predominantly the theme of the celebration at the 74th Republic Day 2023.
- Gujarat’s tableau emerged as the numero uno in the popular choice segment.
- Uttarakhand’s tableau won the 1st prize followed by the Maharashtra’s tableau displaying “Sade Tin Shaktipithe” and “Nari Shakti” and the 3rd prize goes to the Uttar Pradesh’s tableau showcasing theme of “Ayodhya Deepotsav.”
- The tableau of Gujarat on the theme of “Clean-Green Energy Efficient Gujarat” won the first prize in the popular choice category followed by Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
- The tableau of Central Public Works Department (CPWD), with the theme ‘Biodiversity Conservation’, along with Vande Bharatam’ dance Group won the “Special Prize.” 74th Republic Day 2023

74th Republic Day 2023: Key Highlights
- President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in celebrating the 74th Republic Day from Kartavya Path with Egyptian President “Abdel Fattah El-Sisi” as the chief guest at the parade.
- The week-long celebrations started on 23 January the birth anniversary of iconic freedom fighter “Subhas Chandra Bose” and officially ended on January 29, as the Indian Beating Retreat ceremony.
- For the first time in Republic Day Parade, India witnessed women riders in the camel contingent of the Rajasthan Frontier of the “Border Security Force” (BSF).
- A total of 23 tableaux – 17 from states and Union territories and six from various ministries and departments – depicting India’s vibrant cultural heritage, and economic and social progress were part of the parade.
