India beat England to win the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup: Indian women cricket team produced a clinical performance as they defeated the England team by seven wickets to win the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup 2023. The 1st tournament was held in South Africa from 14th to 29th January 2023. Having won the toss and putting England team to bat first, Indian bowlers produced a great show as they restrict England to a score of just 68 runs. Indian team chased this target in the 14th over with 7 wickets remaining. Titas Sandhu of India was named as the player of the match.

Winner- India ; Runners-up- England ; Semi-finalists- New Zealand & Australia.

About ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup 2023

  • The tournament was the 1st edition of the ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup which was held in South Africa from 14-29 January 2023.
  • Originally, the tournament was supposed to take place in December 2021, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ICC finally shifted the tournament from 2021 to January 2023.
  • The 2nd ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 will schedule to take place in Malaysia and Thailand while Nepal & Bangladesh will host the 2027 edition.
