Madrid Spain Masters 2023: Top Indian shuttler PV Sindhu suffered a humiliating loss in the final at the hands of World No. 12 Georgia Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 21-8,21-8 in a one-sided contest to clinch Women’s Singles title in the “Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 badminton tournament”  held in Madrid, Spain from 28 March- 2 April 2023. Before the summit clash in Madrid, Sindhu and Tunjung had faced each other seven times, with the Indian winning all matches.   • In the final of the Women’s Singles title, Indonesia’s Georgia Tunjung outclassed Indian champion shuttler PV Sindhu 21-8,21-8 in a one-sided contest. This was her first win against PV SIndhu.

  • Earlier, The Indian shuttler had defeated Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min in the semi-finals sealing a hard-fought victory. While, Tunjung edged past Carolina Marin of Spain to set up their clash in the final.
