Manoj Bajpayee’s Joram wins awards at Durban International Film Festival : The Manoj Bajpayee starrer psychological-thriller, “Joram” has made a historic victory when the film won two awards in respective categories at the prestigious “Durban International Film Festival.”
Manoj Bajpayee’s brilliant performance in the film has earned him the “Best Actor” award while the film’s cinematographer Piyush Puty won the “Best Cinematography” award. The film is directed by Devashish Makhija.

- The film is a psychological triller about a hunted displaced man who is on run to protect his infant daughter to keep her alive from the forces that want him dead.
- The film also highlight issues such as social inequalities, injustice with the tribal communities and deforestation.
- The film also features Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in a lead role and Tannishtha Chatterjee and Rajshree Deshpande in special appearances.
- The director praised Bajpayee and the cast of Joram for their power-packed performance in the film. Manoj Bajpayee’s performance ensures knots in the chest as do the powerful performances of the rest of the cast.
- Earlier, the film also premiered at the 52nd “International Film Festival of Rotterdam 2023”, Netherlands on 1 February 2023.
- The film is produced by Zee studios Pvt. Ltd. and directed by Debashish Makhija.
