Q4) India become the largest producer of Sugar in the World.

India has become the largest producer and consumer of sugar in the world and the second largest exporter. During the sugar season in India, over 5,000 lakh metric tons (LMT) of sugarcane produce Sugar is diverted to ethanol production.

The Nobel Prize is one of the most prestigious awards given in six different fields,- Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Economic Sciences, Physiology or Medicine, and Peace Prize. Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DDWS), Jal Shakti Ministry Gajendra Singh Shekhawat celebrated Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2 October 2022. This day was celebrated to mark the Birth Anniversary of the “Father of Nation” Mahatma Gandhi. Indian Navy signed a contract on the White Shipping Information Exchange with the Royal New Zealand Navy. The agreement was signed to encourage more opportunities in the Maritime field.

• This pact is a type of protocol that allows Indian Navy and New Zealand Navy to exchange information about ships in their respective oceanic territories.

2nd edition of United Nation Geospatial Information Congress (UNGIC) 2022 was organised in Hyderabad. This year’s theme of UNGIC is “Geo-Enabling the Global Village: No One Should be left Behind”. It is expected that India’s geospatial economy will cross Rs. 63,000 cores by end of 2025 at growth rate of 12.8%. Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic wins the ATP Title in the Astana Open. This was his second consecutive title this season. Novak Djokovic claimed his overall 90th title after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Astana Open in Kazakhstan.
