Odisha’s VK Pandian Conferred with FIH President’s Award 2023: IAF officer and Private Secretary of Odisha’s CM V Karthikeyan Pandian has been conferred with the “FIH President’s Award 2023”. The award was given to him by the FIH President Tayyab Ikram. Pandian was awarded for successfully hosting the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 in Bhubaneshwar and Rourkela. Odisha’s VK Pandian Conferred with FIH President’s Award 2023: Key Highlights
- President of Hockey India Dilip Tirkey also praised VK Pandian for his contribution in the field hockey over the last two decades.
- VK Pandian after receiving the award said that he is deeply honored and humbled to receive such a prestigious award. He considers himself as the representative of Team Odisha which put its heart and soul into making the Hokey World Cup a grand success.
- He also said that he is aiming to fulfill the vision of Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik into a reality of turning Odisha into a major sporting destination.
- Previously, he successfully organised other hockey tournaments like the Champion’s Trophy, Hockey World League and FIH Pro League.
- The FIH President’s Award recognizes individuals National Associations or other organizations for valuable services to hockey, whether direct or indirect or initiatives which have had a significant effect on hockey at the international level.
