Renowned Hindi Writer Pushpa Bharati to Receive 33rd Vyas Samman:

Renowned Hindi- Writer Pushpa Bharati will receive the 33rd “Vyas Samman Award 2023” for her 2016 memoir “Yaadein, Yaadein aur Yaadein”. The prestigious award given by the K.K Birla Foundation honouring the remarkable achievement in Hindi literary work by Indian citizens in the last 10 years. A recipient of many awards, Bharati is praised in the literary circles for her extraordinary composing style and utilization of language.

About K.K Birla Foundation

  • The award was instituted in the year 1991. It is given annually to an outstanding work of Hindi literature by Indian citizens in the last 10 years. It caries a cash prize of Rs. 4 Lakh, a citation and a plague, perceiving the significant effect of the beneficiary’s commitment to the artistic scene.
  • Besides the Vyas Samman, the K.K Birla Foundation has also instituted “Saraswati Samman” and “Bihari Purashkar” award.
  • The Saraswati Samman, which carries a cash prize of Rs. 15 Lakh is given annually to the Indian citizens in any of the 22 languages included in the schedule VIII to the Indian Constitution during the period of 10 years.
  • Note: The 32rd “Saraswati Samman 2023” was given to Sivasankari for her 2019 memoir “Surya Vansham”.
  • The Bihari Puraskar is given every year for an outstanding work published in the last 10 years by a Rajasthani author in  Hindi or Rajasthani language. It carries a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 lakh.
  • Note: The 32nd “Bihari Purashkar 2023” was given to Dr. Madhav Hada for his 2015 literary book “Pachrang Chola Pahar Sakhi Ri”.
